It's really hard to see your pic, but from what I can tell they look like Celestial Pearl Danios...

I'd say they are standard Pearl Danios (Brachydanio albolineatus) although the colours seem a little more intense than what you would normally find.

Davo may be right, though I've never seen Pearls quite so stunning. Definitely some type of Danio...

no they are not pearl danios.. see the tiger barb in the middle of the bunch? these are huge compared to the tiger barb.

unless its two pictures merged together..

Hmm, I tried looking at the copyright page on Amazon's website, but to no avail.

I thought it would credit the front cover photo on that page, but maybe it says elsewhere in the book. Find a copy of the book or write the authors, I guess.

I'd like to point out however that the other fish is most likely not a tiger barb, but a pentazona barb.

Pentazona barbs stay a bit smaller than tigers, and the one in the picture doesn't look fully grown anyway .

Personally I think they are pearl danios and that the photo as been given a bit more colour. They are nice fish though.

Yeah it probably is photoshop..

I was thinking pentazona barb, because of the colours.. but could only count 4 stripes.. or 4 and a half, little one at the back
