Anyone Recommend A Compact Camera

Can anyone recommend a compact camera with a good zoom and image quality?

We want something we can take out in evenings and concerts to take pics so need to fit in a pocket or bag.

Any suggestions be really helpful.

i just purchased a sanyo 10 mega pixel cam from asda for £60 takes really good photo's and for an extra fiver you can get a 1gig memory card too ! great for takin pic's of anything fish scenery people only had it an hour ! lol

without knowing a budget its hard to be specific, however a few things to look out for;

Build - preferably a metal case

Zoom - ignore 'digital' zoom, its rubbish, you should just be intrested in 'optical' zoom

Ignore megapixels aswell. Simply put, the more megapixels crammed onto a sensor, the worse off your images will be in low light.

There really is no need to go above 6 or 7 megapixels in a compact camera.

looks good to me. Its noted in the link to have very good ISO perforance, which would help in the low light conditions of the concerts you plan on taking it to.
