I'm looking a few pieces of tiny bogwood/branches. Its a small tank that I've set up and its good a good big lump of bogwood it in but its too much. I'm looking branches, or twigs, bigger than twigs though.

Do you know what I mean? I'm not sure I even know what I mean and I've been searching the net looking, but cannot find anything.

Anyone know any good sites or links to bits? Its only real small stuff I'm looking, wait, I've said that already.

aqua essentials, thats where i ordered mine from, the nano pieces, it says 30cm long but its more like 20, if that! if you wait till tomorrow ill be uploading pics to my journal so you can have a look there.

quite cheap aswell £7 each i think.

Honestly, I get all of my bog wood from local bogs and beaches and ponds. I just give it a good scrubbing and leave it in some really hot water to kill off any bacteria (also I'm sure the chlorine in the water helps a bit) after that I let it cool off and dry and then I put it in.

I've never had any problems or hitchhikers. I know some may disagree but it always works for me and I get some great looking peices for a little bit of work rather than $50 at the LFS.

Oh I get all my big bits out of the bog too. Freshly dug out. My last piece I had to get my dads chainsaw to as it was about 7ft by 6ft. Its just something small I'm looking now though and driving all the way down there is just too much.
I did get a few bits from lough Neagh here in northern ireland one day but they all seemed rotten so I binned them.

You would probably like manzanita wood. You can get some nice thin, gnarly pieces and it looks way cool with some bits of moss attached to it I'm sorry I don't have a recommendation of where to get it but at least if you know the name of it, it will be easier to search by name on the internet.

agree on aquatic essentials, eBay also has some good pieces sometimes, the trick is to search for nano wood

Ok, had a wee look on there and I'm not "allowed" to get anything off there until we're back from England. I suppose she's right, we're going away saturday.
