Once my new tank is set up ( 450+ litres ) I am thinking of setting up small tank and raising some Killie fish eggs.

How hard is it to do?

if you get micro worm and newly hatched brine shrimp you should raise them fine.

Thanks for replies think once my tank is set up il give it a crack, whats best to use for hatching? could i use a large jar?

you need something like an ice cream tub or margarine tub, prefably white, anything that will float in the main tank really

read this, it is a thread where BigC helped me out when i was going to try it, unfortunatly i couldnt commit to it

Exract
ice-cream tub. float this in an aquarium and cover the peat in the tub with about 30mm of tank water of around 75'F. Some of the eggs will hatch almost immediately. The fry are really, really small, you wont believe how small these things are compared to guppy, platy young.

What species do you have in mind before you buy

BigC

thanks for replies, to be honest no idea what species, any you can recommend?

Aphyosemion australe or Fundulopanchax gardneri sp. would suit the bill.
