what size tank is that pleco in...they need at minimum 75 gallon..but would do better in a larger tank

I hope the tank in your picture is not the tank he usually is in...that would just be NOT RIGHT

If that pleco is in that small tank in your house, you need to either give that to your local fish store or buy a 75 gallon or larger tank...being in that small tank is TORTURE...the poor Pleco

That was just the plastic micro gallon i used to take it 20' :D the big net i have wasn't big enough. Just moving it there was hard cuz the skin is so rough. i found out the person i took it from didnt have their aquarium heated so its been at about 68 for at least a year- maybe more. =(
I put it in my 75 g axie tank for now. i dont think they like it in their zone.
My room mate has a good 75g alternative tank but he doesn't take care of it =( hes always defensive when I gently encourage him to care more for the oscar and convict cichlid thats there
: /

please research if the pleco could be put in with predatory fish safely

maybe get the axos a smaller tank in which no other fish are added
research...research...research

You can't keep the Pleco and Axies together in the same aquarium

Temperature....Axies need cold water, Pleco's need heated water
The Pleco will intimidate and stress out the Axies severely and could actually potentially kill the Axies as a direct result
The Pleco is territorial and as such they will attack the Axies if they feel the Axies are in their way...not to mention that the Pleco can get a liking for the Axies' slimecoat
Pleco's are high producers of ammonia that will kill the much more delicate Axies

dont experiment with your fish...you need to do proper research about proper care for the fish you want to keep
otherwise you will learn the hard way and will very likely lose fish

how long have you been in the hobby?

Wow! Thank you soo much other fish peeps! Very valuable info! I had no where else that was safe to put the placeo and if its already used to the temp I had my axies in... its only temporary. I'll talk to my roomie tomorrow and see if I can help him 75% change his water and add the placeo to it. he has a 50g spare tank thats without fish right next to the heated one..

As someone who has owned Axies, the fact that you are keeping such a large ammonia machine like that Pleco with your Axies frankly horrifies me

Axies are so delicate, they need space in an aquarium on their own. They absorb everything that is in the water through their skin and a Pleco is such a messy animal, you would be doing two or three water changes a day and that Pleco will still poison those Axies

Axies are almost extinct in the wild...probably already are extinct. So we as humans must be considerate of their needs, their health and welfare at all times when we keep them in our home aquariums

Pleco's and Axies are nocturnal hunters......their diets are polar opposites, if the Pleco feels that the Axies are encroaching on his space he will attack...and Axies will retaliate. You will (not might) wake one morning to a scene of sheer carnage if you continue to keep those animals together...even on a temporary basis its absolutely wrong and cruel.
