That looks interesting. I'm confused about what 'mains supply' it plugs into. Who has mains CO2 in their house :)
I assume it's a mains powered chemical reaction of some kind. Pity there's not more info...

Its the Carbo Plus system which is more or less useless and will cost about the same amount in a year with refills etc than a proper pressurised co2 system, but besides that its useless anyway.

You first have to understand the reason why we have CO2.

As the formula sugests C = carbon, that's is the purpose of injecting CO2 into a tank as plants are made up of 80% of it!!

This device uses an electrolysis system to react against a carbon plate sandwiched between 2 stainless steel ones. This is a consumable & has to be replaced when depleted.

Sevenoks Tropical Marine have one of these in a show tank in their shop. They are having good results from it, however the plates get used up quite rapidly (roughly every 6weeks) so is quite an expensive way of producing carbon. They can even be controlled with a PH meter!!

I cant remember exactly how this system works but as far as i know for it to be effective you have to have a high Ph to start with, btw plants are made up of about 43% carbon or thereabouts.

Sorry about that, 43%, I thought it was higher.

Haven't tried this system but S-T-M in Kent have had this running on a show tank for around year & they seem to be getting good results.

Must be someone on here that's tried one surely?
