Anyone Know Anything About Congo Tetra?

Does anyone know anything about these? Would they be suitable in my tank (juwel Vision 180, stocking in my sig)? The label in the LFS said they tend to nip fins - each other's fins, or all fins? I don't have any long-finned fish apart from my bolivian rams which have quite long tails, but I have some baby male guppies - but their tails aren't very long at all so I think I could be OK. My PH is around 8 but I read that they prefer it 6-7, what do you think?

They can be nip other fishes fins if they feel inclined, I have found this to be more common if kept in smaller tanks as they do like lots of swimming space. They do prefer a ph lower than 7 but are quite happy around 7. My 2 males are around 4" and the the 5 females are around 3 1/2" and they like to have plenty of free swimming space.
