Anyone Have Tanks With Electricity Cards?

Looks like I;ll be renting somewhere in next couple of weeks. The houses I have seen that I c an afford have card meteres for the electricity. I;ve never used a card meter before having always just paid bills on a direct debit.

I have two tanks and two vivs. Is this going to cost me a fortune in a card meter
anyone have a similar scenario who can give me an idea of what they pay?

I have a key meter and put £60 on a month however there has been a few times when it ran out and obviously everything went off which was not good so I purchased a UPS and connect my heater, powerheads and lights only to the UPS so if there is a power cut I have a couple of hours of water heat, circulation and lighting.

I also get spikes which I have never had before moving on to a key meter but again the UPS regulates the power to what it feeds so when the electricity spikes everything else flicks apart from whats being run by my UPS.

Bypass the meter using a 100A KMF switch!......Free lecky! lol

I used to do this when I started renting!

1 day through the meter and 1 day bypassed so the lecky board think your still using it and paying!

Naughty, illegal...............easy to do and FREE!







Only joking mate! Don't do it! I stopped when my mate was investigted for it and he got fined!........A big fine!

Back up system is really the only way to be safe

In my courts the only people getting done for abstracting electricity are people who get raided for drugs

not sure it would be a good idea for me to do it lol

I'm on a key metre with british gas and top up about £45-£50 a month, i have never had any problems.

No big deal, fish were ok tho. So it's not the end of the world.

Just ring the supplier and ask them to come and fit a meter? They have to if you ask them............
