Anyone Got A Marina Aqua-Minder?

Anyone got a Marina Aqua-Minder? If so any probs???

I got one about 4 months ago and the thermometer went wrong - It went out of tune in the region of 7 degrees celcius! I was in my lfs and asked if they had any probs and they said none however they would happily exchange it for me. I got another today and it just doesn't switch on!

Any other tales?

What alternatives are there and any preferences?

i think an alternative would be to not have one..... weekly water changes on the same day and visual inspections of the tank for temp etc can be done yourself! save your money as its just another gadget thats not required

I do twice weekly water changes and have no probs.

The only reason I like it is it has max and min temp alarms. I have it so the cable is hidden (I don't like thermometers or anything else showing) and then stick the unit to the back of the tank with velcro so if I want to see it I can pull it off and whenever it's not alarming I know the temp is good.
