Anyone ever used loam as a substrate

I have it on good authority that loam makes a very good substrate for plant growing in an aquarium (sam as terrestrial so logical reslly I suppose!)

Question is will it stay at the bottom or rise up and turn the tank into a mass of cloudy black goo?

what is loam not familar with it.

Good quality soil like what you get in a garden if the gardener knows what he is doing or you are in certain parts of the country blessed with fertile soil

I was thinking of doing the same idea (usung loam as a substrate) but have never got around to it. I think CFC might know a little more as I asked him a similar question about mud a few months ago.
