Anyone Else Ever Had Aggresive Pearl Danio

Hey all,
i was shocked to find that my pearl danio had killed my blue danio. I was watching them and the pearl just seem to be nipping at the fins but not doing much harm. I came back an hour late and he was missing a couple fins and was dead. The only other thing in the tank are 2 serpae tetras and they have always kept to themselves. i am certain the pearl daanio did this i just didnt think they were know to exhibit this sort of behaviour! anyone else had an experience like this?!

How big of a tank do you have? And am I right in thinking you had just the one by himself? There's only two reasons I've heard of danios being aggressive... when they are in a small tank and when they are alone or in a small group. Danios like big groups (8 or more is best) and need at least a 20 gallon tank for a good amount of swimming room.

ok im prepared for your screaming....they are in a 5 gallon... i know they would like more room, but yes it was 1 pearl danio 1 blue danio and 2 serpae tetras, i had the lfs test my water about 3 days ago and they said everything "looked good" anyway in a way i know its my fault for not having a bigger tank but i am getting a 55 gallon in a week so i hope the others make it because pearl is a *****! lol! thanks for any advice or suggestions please dont crucify me i am still learning but love the hobby

i feel your pain my friend. when my pearl chases and scares the other fish, it makes me hungry for some pearl sushi. haha
