anyone else bored of....

It seems a few people care and are annoyed by them like me.

If there for the benefit of the beginners post them in the beginer section the, thats what it's for....helping out beginners and pointing them in the right direction.

I don't like it, I don't read it I don't even bother clicking on the link but there's constantly those titles coming up.

I could complain about the number of 'HELP I JUST GOT A 20 GALLLON TANK AND SOME FISH I THINK THEY ARE A SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH A NEON TETRA AND SOME KIND OF CATFISH THING THE NEON TETRA DIED SO I GOT 7 GUPPIES NOW THERE ARE TOO MANY BABIES AND THE GUPPYS KEEP BEING EATEN HELP!!!!!11' posts

Personally I haven't seen 1 of these so either there in the beginners section which I don't bother with and there in the right place or there part of your imagination.

And if they have bothered to find this forum and ask for help, good for them, atleast they know something isn't right.

I think they should make a sticky, and when ever some one finds a SMALL tank they can post it in the sticky. just a thought

if you go in the beginners section you should expect beginner questions like what you said.

and if you can't stand questions like that don't go in there...like me!! I get enough of those questions of work all day so steer clear, but in Chit Chat I expect a better level of.....urm well chit chat!!

I feel the same way. Im not saying i dont like all newbies but it is just boring to answer the same questions over and over because people dont read the stickys

there should a LPS story sticky post aswell.

I think we're all missing the point of these (and the LFS) posts. I think that, by and large, these people are not posting because they are sharing information, they are posting to share their outrage with someone else who actually cares. Let's face it -- if I said to my husband, "Look at this tiny fish tank! Isn't it awful?" he would say "Yep." That would be the sum total of our conversation. And don't get me wrong -- he likes our fish and supports the hobby (financially, at least! ).

The point is, there is no sense griping to someone who won't get as outraged as you do about a particular problem, especially if you are looking to vent a bit. I think that's why we see so many of these posts here. I mean, if you told a story about someone buying five goldfish for a ten gallon tank to someone who knows nothing about fish, they'd say "So what?" It's just not the same.

Don't get me wrong -- I've pretty much stopped reading these posts as well. I have enough stress in my life, and I don't need to get my blood pressure up over this stuff as well. (And I thought fishkeeping was supposed to be relaxing! ) But I would be totally in favor of a new "Outrage" section to give people somewhere to vent. Then maybe everyone could be happy.

Great idea " PA" I go through the same stuff with my hubby. I'll try to talk to him and he just says thats a shame. The only time I really got his attention was when I said I was on my way out to buy two Roseline sharks "great honey have fun get three if you want"said hubby ..... and came back with the bill for three @29.95 each! When his eyes popped I reminded him we talked about the fish and $ on 2-3 other occations. He has since tryed to listen but still he just doesn't get it.I agree a B***h section would rock.

or we could ignore them so that brand new people see the threads... read it... understand 'small tanks suck' and chances are... they will also not want to read it... over... and over... and over... and will ignore the threads like most others do.


Or... we could spend our evening bitching that others wont stop bitching!!



(I'm not pointing fingers at anyone for anything as I only read the opening post and pieces of a small fraction of the subsequent replies)

yeah, im getting tired of it too. i think it should be both posted in the beginner section and general forum, locked in general, and oepn in beginner. if the visitor was like me, a good all around guy, he/she wouldnt go to the beginner section, and wouldnt want to read a 5 page long thread. just my opinion

I personally think its a bigger problem than just the small tank things. It seems to me that recently newbies and beginners have been asking beginner questions and making beginner statements in the Tropical Chit Chat Section rather than the Beginner Question section where they should be being posted considering its made for that. Thats what im noticing i dunno about you guys. It seems that moderators dont move these posts though, maybe they just havent noticed.

When i first came here I never went to the beginner section didn't seem like there was much going on in there. I spent most of my time in chit chat till I figured out what i was doing.
