Anybody use/heard of the brand Sera??

I usually use Nutra-Fin water conditioner but bought a different brand this time called Sera aquatan. It's made in Germany.

Anyways I've been using it for the last month and I am a little bit worried because unlike the Nutra-Fin water conditioner this one has a very strong smell. It doesn't go away either. If I stick my arm in the water my arms smells like the stuff. I was just wondering if anyone knows of this brand and knows if it's good or not?

I think I might stop using it and go back to Nutra-fin. I've been having some problems with my fish lately. Not sure if it has any connection to the water conditioner or not.

I have seen that product but I have never used it....I use a cheaper brand that my LFS sells....it is a concentrate so you don't need to add as much....good value and the fish are healthy in it.

I use Sera plant stuff, and some of their test kits, they all seem pretty good. I've never seen the water conditioner though. My lfs says their stuff is good, but then he's the one selling it to me...

This one is a concentrate too..that's one of the reasons I bought it so it would last me longer.

I'm just a little worried about the strong smell

Mine has a strong smell in the bottle but not in the tank....my tank just smells like...well...tank....not chemical...

If you are suspicious I wouldn't use it...

I just smelled my water and it smells fine..like a nice pond smell not chemical smell at all. Maybe I am just paranoid..I think that comes with owning fish!!

I think I'll relax and continue using it..maybe once I run out of it I'll go back to using Nutra-fin.

I have used many Sera products and find them to be the finest on the market. I have used aquatan in the past and never had a problem with it. I now use R/O water and top up with Sera Mineral Salt and KH Plus so i have no need for it. They are very good products especially for planted tanks.
