I have s 55 gal tank. currently in the tank there are :
2 angel fish
2 dwarf gourmais (1 blue 1 red)
2 guppies

I want to know what else I can add.
I really like neons but i don't think they go well with angel fish (they are lunch)
The one type of fish I would really like is a shark but I don't know if there is any kind I can put in the tank. Don't worry about the guppies I can put them in another tank if they cause problems with any fish suggestions anyone might have.

Please someone reply I might go to the fish store later today If it's open and any Suggestions would be a huge help.

Is the tank cycled (i.e. filter run for 8 weeks b4 putting fish in) if so you have space for more. the angels are what put a limit on it as they will eay most fry and need 18" height. My tank is almost the same size as yours, but is a little over stocked. I have extra ariation running and have had no problems, but i change 10% of the water every week and have extra filtration (fluval +4 and eheim 2231).

yes the tank is cycled. It was a cold water tank but I recently moved my comets to a huge outdoor pond so I made the tank a tropical tank which is much cleaner and eaiser to maintain.

how big do the silver sharks grow and how many should I get if I decide to get them????

I would think a school of small/medium tetra or the like would be wonderful. Also some cory cats for bottom activity would not go amiss. I like rummynose tetra, silver tipped tetra, black phantom tetra or pristilla for the job. In a 55 gal you have lots of room.... just be sure to only add say 3 or 4 fish per week...

what kind of pleco do you recommend? I dont want something too big!!!!

Bristle noses get about 6 inches and are excellent algy eaters but they won't get it all it'sd just a matter of time ..... I think 6 corys and a pleco would be nice ... or like 6 ottos would look neat with some smaller corys ... My pleco is a common and loves everything that drops too the bottom .. I say some rams in there

if you would like a shark you could try a red tailed black shark

can i really get a red tailed black shark!!!!!? would it get along with my other fish? That is the kind i was going to get in the beggining but i wasn't sure i could have one with the fish I have. PLease someone confirm wheather i can have one or not because my LFS has a shipment come in on sunday's and they go on sale on monday's I will so be out there tonight if I can put one in my tank with my current fish? Also if i get the shark what other types of fish can i put in there?

please can anyone tell me if the red tailed black shark can go in my tank?

Also i was wondering if my red dwarf gourmias would be less aggressive twords the blue one with more fish in the tank? He has a small tear in his tail fin from a recent attack that i witnessed.

That is not what it means to be cycled. You have to add an ammonia source regularly to the water, then keep testing until you have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and registering nitrate levels. Just thought I'd avoid confusion for others reading this thread.

Have fun stocking your tank! Wish I had a 55g to fill, you lucky thing you! :p

sorry i know i should have mentioned that the tank was already cycled from the previous fish in it. however i did a significant water change and thn tested the water several times before adding the new fish. and everything was fine.
