Any Suggestions?

Never kept otos. Always thought they were bottom dwellers.

hmm, well atm i think all my neons are not having good luck, i said that oenn had died about an hour ago, now i have just counted them again, yet another one...gone! it was floating at the top of the tank!? it was perfectly normal this morning!? :(

so thats only seven left, however i am not prepared to add anymore fish untill i know that there will be no more deaths!? :rip: i couldnt believe it!?

whats going on!? they were perectly fine all of them an hour ago and now anothers cicked the bucket! i have noticed that today with the pellets the zebra loach i currently have (taking back to the fish store when i get my live plants next week.) was nicking them of them and being a bit of a bully ... could he be nomber 1 suspect on my list?

all the other neons seem perfectly fine. however i dont want all these deaths one by one...especially a couple of hours after!!! :(

what could of happened in such little time? could it be the zebra loach? the neon i lost still had colour so it may have been killed recently, it was definatly there because i believe it to be an cardinal tetra, which was healthy last time i saw it. what i mean to say is, usually when its caused by a disease sometimes the colours fade ... am i right in saying that?

no more stock untill i sus this one out im afraid! :(
thanks x

What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Are the neons red stripe still vibrant red.

hmm well, i have to admit...iv only gone and lost the test kit thing a couple of weeks ago :( :dunno:

i really could of done with it right now too

its on my shopping list for next week, i hope its not too late. :(

the tetras i must admit were shoaling when i walked in so i knew something had gone of. and all the colour red is as red as ever, they are all fine.

shall i do a 20% water change?

thanksx

Yes water change and increase aeration till you get to know what your water stats are.
When a fish dies water quality is the first thing we look at.

Since nobody brought up Blue Ram cichlids - I've had a lot of luck with them in a small fish community tank (cardinals, harlequins, corys, ottos, glass cats, female betta, etc). Very colourful!

blue ram chichlids...hmm...would they have to go in by themselves? also would they need certain things like caves, plants? ect.

thanks x

tbh i would not buy neons ever again, first of all they die very easily if the water conditions arent right, neon tetra disease can spread through all of them wiping them all out. personally i prefer cardinals as they are more hardy and cannot get neon tetra disease. :good:
