hi there, had my new setup about 2 days now... ive got a 10g tank (1.5foot) with an underwater gravel tray, a small air pump and airstone, heater.... and a fluval 1 filter for extra filteration. I have 2 amazon sword plants and a few peices of slate etc with a small 15watt light. I have 2 african dwarf frogs and 1 platy for the cycling period... but in time when the cycle is complete i want some kind of shark to go in... not an aggresive one which will harm the frogs or other fish? any ideas of any sharks i could get? or maybe just fish you might feel would go well with my setup, thnx :p

no shark will fit in a 10 gallon tank
they all grow to at least 5 inches and are moderately to very agressive. The frogs might become a snack in time.

so basically, no, there is no shark suitable for your setup :(

what about any other fish.. i was thinking of just adding maybe 5 or 6 platys in there and leaving it at that.. id really like to bread some you see... 7 or 8 platys will bread in a tank with two frogs?

the platies will breed in a glass of water if you want :)

7 or 8 platies should be ok with the two frogs, though you might not get to save lots of fry in a small tank with lots of fish. which is cool though cause you don't really have room to put the fish.

Keep say 2 males to 5 females, that should to the trick!!

i know its hard to just say.. but how long from a fresh tank will they bread? ive had my tank about 2 days now... still cycling (u can see pics on the members pics forum) but i have no fry capsual yet so if its soon i better get running to the pet shop!

p.s fluval 1 any good for a 10g? with an undergravel to

if the females were in with the males at the shop, they are most likely pregnant

they could have fry anytime from now until about 2 months as they sometimes abort when transported from tank to tank...
