oh and i was hopeing there might be some hints on how to breed more platinum gouramis i only have one not shore if its male or female and its not old anuth to breed but when it gets to breeding age i want to try breeding it with some of the other gouramis i have i want to try for the platinum color so wich other color would be best to have a chance of geting platinum from ?

I wanted some pictus catfish because they are so pretty, but learned that those long feelers they have are for hunting. They will get pretty big and when they do, your cories will be dinner, along with anything else they can fit into their mouths.

What do you mean by this?
yellow fined ell tails 2
I'm just not sure which fish you're reffering to :)

It's true that the pictus might be a problem - particularly for that guppy - they could eat it.

I don't know what size tank you have and I know I once said I'd consider having so many gouramies in a single tank somewhat risky. However, while I do stand by that, it seems pretty clear that you have enough gouramies to have them disperse aggression amongst themselves. The only thing I'd say is to not add any more fish unless you know your tank's gallonage.

If you can post the tank's length, width and depth in inches or centimetres, someone could calculate that for you. Then we can see where you stand as far as stocking goes.

About the opalines... I think the opaline pattern is recessive so you'll not be able to get any opaline fry unless you breed two opalines together or, possibly, if you happen to breed your current opaline to a blue three-spot that came from at least one opaline parent. You probably don't know who your fish' parents are so I'd just attempt to breed the opaline with any blue and hope for the best.

The reason I'm suggesting you avoid breeding to the browns/yellows is that you probably won't get clear blue fry and golds are also less likely to have opaline fish in their anscestry.

i now have two 185 liters tanks they are 4 foot long the main tank i have is 6 foot long same hight and wide and two breeding tanks 2 foot long each hehehe i gone a bit crazy for the fish i guess most fish if not all i breed i ether give to 1 of 2 pet stores i go to they dont mind geting free fish to sell or to a friend i no whos going to start up breeding and selling fish of all sorts to fish shops i find it fun breeding them and looking for the one that looks realy good as for the 2 185 liters im useing at the moment to keep some of the gouramis in and when or if i have problems wiith the pictus i shell move it there platinum gourami has a light pink touch to is sides its not sick its just part of its lack of color or white color but looks intresting if i tryed breeding with a gold what color would i get ?

Platinums are just a selectively bred light shade of gold so, if you breed them with golds, you generaly get a medium gold/yellow color.
