Wow, that is quite alot of fish already! I would say with the ammound of 'bottom-lower' dwelling fish you have, another (even mildly) territorial species would be a bad idea. I would look at somthing that is not a Cichlid..... Hatchet fish perhaps... How big is the tank by the way?

As Nurglepuss said, how big is the tank?
We also need to know what types of Plec you have to work out stocking levels?
The shell-dwelling cichlid needs to be kept in a different set up, not a normal community tank. I see from your other thread that you have ID'd it as a Lamprologus Ocellatus. They are a Tanganyikan cichlid and need to be kept with other fish from the same area. They need a PH of about 8.5 and are very aggressive towards other fish (and humans!)

Lamprologus Ocellatus

Well that seems to be the little fella ... although he is EXTREMELY calm and friendly - NO SIGNS of ANY agression whatsoever .

All fish are really small exept for one 4 inch plec and a 6inch Red Tail Black Shark.

Tank is 30" x 12" x 15 " deep - with a what seems like a powerful internal filter ( fluval 3)

It's not so much the aggression that's an issue, he needs to be with his own type and not in a tropical community tank.
Do you know what type of Plecs you have?

Its only a 22gallon tank, so its overly full already. Dont add anything else unless you plan to get a larger tank first :)

on a side note, Nanochromis Nudiceps etc are not peacefull cichlids, they can be rather aggressive and will defend their territory with vigour if required.

An eventfull day !!

I swapped the 6 " Red Tail Black Shark for a BABY RTB Shark as SHARKEY has recently started to GET over aggressive .

Also removed the Nudiceps to a different tank .

Current set up
Note ALL the fish are just over one inch in length EXCEPT the 4" Plec

Red Tail Black Shark (BABY !)
4 plecs ( 1 x 4" and 3 x 1" ones)
4 botias ( 2")
2 banjo catfish ( 1")
1 Twig catfish
4 small Praecox Rainbows ( male)
2 Keyhole Cichlids ( Babies)
Pair of Borelli cichlids - very similar to rams (1")

1 Nanacana cichlid (1")

Large mountain filter shrimp 3"

With regard to the 4 plecs .

The large one seems to be a L200 - "Green Phantom" costs £21 !!!
Small plec with a reddish tinge all over - L??? beautiful - seems like a light brown with larger dark spots . - possible Clown plec .. cost £14 !!
Small Leopard plec only cost £4
Small plec that looks just like a Gold Nuggett exept that the tail fin has yellow corners rather than a yellow stripe at the end.

UPDATE :)
Just added a fairly powereful pump to this tank and it's pumping out of TWO airstones .... looks real nice .

After getting rid of the 6" Red Tail Black Shark ....I also returned the two larger botias as they were getting too boisterous - and I discovered that they will eat smaller fish AND grow up to 12 inches long !

Bought another SMALL plec ..... A simple BEAUTIFUL Queen Arabesque plec - cost £18.99 but well worth it.
