theres no picture just a description of a fish i glanced at a fish store. ive looked around the internet but cant find much that looked like it.

its about 4 inches, a pinkish colour with 2 black spots on its body, its got a long snout compared to its size, somewhat similar to a longnose hawkfish ... it may even be a variation on the longnose im not sure.

i liked the look of it but want to find out and research it first to see if its sutible, and i didnt have a chance to ask the lfs since it was just a passing glance ... and my lfs being a 14 mile round trip i dont get much chance to go there so id though id ask if any of you have a clue :good:

Well the first thing that sprang to my mind was a possum wrasse, Wetmorella.

They are quite suitable for peaceful tanks, but are habitually quite secretive.

It could also be a juvenile slingjaw wrasse, which appear similiar. The adults of that species are magnificent predators that can consume many animals found in a reef tank, including medium sized fish.

that looks as good as anything ive seen cheers lynden! i looked at all pictures of wrasses on fishId as well musta missed that one :p

it didnt seem a too prolific swimmer in the lfs though, kinda half hearted attempt ... il have to hope its there wen i next go so i can get a better look at it!

but are habitually quite secretive.

Yeah, every one I've seen has always been a scardy-cat hiding in the rockwork when people come near too quickly

you were spot on lynden :good: i went n saw it today it was 40quid though and didnt look to happy and healthy!!
