they look more like alien eggs, never seen snail eggs that size and colour before but hey! Ive been proven wrong more than once in my lifetime!

the 'lump' as im gonna call it is about 1cm in diameter.

Again, im no expert as i dont keep apple snails, but from your sig i can see you do. Ive been reading and these are more than likely your snails eggs indeed!

From my quick breeze through breeding of them, id probably leave them there, and just make sure they dont dry out totally, but not to fully submerge them as they will drown.

Best of luck, hopefully someone with a definative answer will come but thats my input :D

best of luck

Thanks Paul, any ideas how long till they 'hatch' and what do I do with them when they do? Will the fish eat them?

Matt

Apple snails defo. They lay their eggs out of the water so the fish wont be able to eat them. As long as they stay moist and warm they should hatch around 10 days. I thought exactly like you when I saw my first eggs. You will find however as the snails get larger so do the egg mounds. :good:

Do I need to stop them dropping in the water some how, to stop the fish eating them when they are little?
Thank you.

Generally when they hatch the baby snails slide down the glass and start eating the algae. Some may get picked off (depending on what fish you have) others will then make their way around the tank. They are really very small when they hatch, but given time you will see them as they get larger roaming around. If you are lucky to be around when they hatch and have a spare tank set up move them into that. If the cluster fall's off or is knocked into the tank, they will drown I'm afraid. Good Luck
