Hi to everybody!
I think I said it in my presentation, I have a community tank with a pair of colisa lalia, 4 panda corys, 1 ancistrus, 6 harlequin rasboras and 4 amano shrimps.
To my great surprise, last night (GMT) my dwarf gouramis spawned (several times I have to say) and now I'm wondering if there's any chance that one of the baby gouramis will survive... Is there anything I can do for them (if I still see eggs when I go back home from work)?
Thank you very much and please, forgive my english

Unfortunately it's too late for any suggestions... no more eggs and no fry (as far as I can see). :/
But the question still remains valid for future knowledge: have you ever saved any baby colisa in a community tank? Was it just a case or is there anything we can do to help this happen?
Thanks a lot if somebody would like to reply!

It is possible i'm sure, but not advisable. You need to recreate certain conditions for the fry after they are born, to help them develop their labyrinth organ (lets them breath air).

Read this taken from the pinned articles at the top, for a nice explanation. If you have a nice pair that are spawning it might be a nice project to get them set up in a breeding tank :good:

Thank you very much for your suggestion!
Actually, they seem very involved in breeding these days...
I was wondering if it would be possible to gently "slide" the eggs into one of those nests that are used for livebearers and let them there in the main tank, but out of reach for the other inhabitants. I'm asking jsut because I don't have another tank... yet!!!!!

The problem would be to avoid surface agitation when you try to slide in the livebearers net. When an egg falls out of the bubble, it is lost. Sylvia often breeds in these plastic storage boxes. This could be a cheap alternative for you. You would have to make sure the tank is cycled though, with a filter (could be a box filter), and a heater.
