its not a drug its a machine that keeps your windpipe from collapsing while you are a sleep c pap stands
for constant positive airway pressure

ps i take 22 pills a day and two injections

damn tha's a lot of pills.

Ahh ok never knew it was a machine. I think my apnea stopped of it's own accord anyway, probably from me smoking less I imagine.

i don't smoke i used to about ten years ago i stopped over night from a 100 a day to zero

Well, it's clever stuff, my baby was on cpap when he came off the ventilator. They had a little woolly hat he had to wear to hold the tubes in place. I assume it's not the same for adults, the hat didn't do much for him, I'm guessing it would do less for a grown man :)

hi i were a nose mask witch as head straps its not to bad to were but its good how it works
my sister works in a hospital in the premature baby unit she said they use c pap quite a bit
on very small babies that have trouble breathing

I have a mate who has been diagnosed with it. Although he is not too bad and does not need the breathing aparatus. As you know it can be caused by a number of different things, and in his case it turns out that he might have oversized tonsils, and removing them might do the trick.

Hi biff, I used to look after adult patient's having CPAP following neurosurgery when we couldn't wean them off the ventilator. It was very tiring for them as it prevented them from sleeping properly.
My father-in-law suffered from obstructive sleep apnoea caused by a combination of obescity, alcohol and previous smoking. He used to have CPAP, but after some lifestyle changes, he had something called the Pillar procedure recently. He is doing well and apart from some slight discomfort he has been off the CPAP for a few months now.

If you don't already know about this, you can read about it on, www.sleepdisorderchannel.com

Best regards, Don.
