Hey all! Here in Washington we have been having a HUGE heatwave. I don't know if it's the stagnant smelling smoke from the fires up north, or the general humid hot weather, but my tank smells BAD. I know all fish tanks have that fishy smell to them, but it smells reallly bad, to the point where an open door and huge fan is necessary 24/7. All water levels are top notch, and the water itself is crystal clear, but for some reason, I just can't get the gross smell to go away. I've been doing 10% water changes every day to see if that would help (I also do a larger change where I clean the gravel around once a week) but it doesn't seem to be doing anything! Is there any sort of water care product to help with smells you guys know of, or should I just wait it out and hope it goes away with the weather? I would love to hear any tips and tricks you have to share!

(P.s. For reference I have 4 apple snails in a filtered, heated, 10 gallon with an air stone)

Try adding active carbon to the filter media, it should absorb the bad smells as well as any discoloration in the water.

Thanks Demeter32 I actually have some Carbon on hand, so I'll try that out today!! :hooray:
