hi mate , i used gripset and it has been ok, only thing i would do different this time is to use a good quality silicone ( a wet and dry type) to seal all the joins from the inside before i painted with gripset.
i started off with wooden braces as per the garf website but found that one day after a big water change the silicone had given way along the top of the glass and was bowed out over 30mm.
i then got 3 steel braces made up that go over the top and outside of the tank and havent had any problems since.
over all the biggest problem i have found is that when the tank is completely emptied the seals will loosen , as mine did when i moved house, so a retouch of silicone and another coat of gripset is needed.
something else i would reccomend is getting a drill guide for the screws to hold the plt together.
i used liquid nails to glue the joins on the sheets of ply and has worked well so far.
the ply i used is form ply not marine ply and before the first coat of gripset i gave it a light sand to rough it up a bit so it would stick.
if you have any other questions or want pics of anything dont hesitate to ask
cheers dan
