I think I've got a problem.

I started my son with an old 5 gal tank I had. Quickly moved him to a 20 gal which is now stable and stocked about right (8 cardinals, 2 guppies, 2 minor tetras, 2 white clouds and a zebra danio).

I resealed my old favorite 22 gal and am currently cycling it in the garage. My son and I built a stand for it which is patiently waiting for when it is cycled.

The 5 gal has been sitting there without a filter while establishing the 20 and getting the 22 started. Today I got a little carried away and let my boy pick out the betta he has been wanting. He picked out two cory's to keep it company. I just did a full water change mixing RO with tap water to match the PH of the 20. For a filter, I just moved the second filter I had on his 20. It has been on there since the beginning and I'm hoping it has enough bacteria to handle the betta and cory's. I'll watch both aquariums closely and if I have to I will move the betta and cories to the 20 if I start having ammonia and/or nitrite problems. I don't think I will but have a plan if I do.

Did I mention I keep looking at Craig's list for aquariums? There is a 40 gallon corner tank that catches my eye. I hope it's gone by the time I get the 22 cycled and stocked. Yep, I've got a problem.

Watch the freebie ads in the classifieds, too. A fish breeder near me was giving up the hobby after many years, and after talking to him on the phone, he said he'd drive "a couple" tanks over in his truck for me. I ended up getting over 40 tanks, all said and done, equipment and all. They're all taking up space in my basement right now, but heck - I'll probably never have to buy a tank again with all of them.

Alternately, if you don't want to feed the addiction, don't read the classifieds and add craigslist to your browsers restricted domain list, because you WILL find plenty of cheap or free tanks.
