Another Sunday At The Lfs

Well I went out to my local Maidenhead Aquatics today hoping to buy some corydora Julii or trilineatus, but could not find any , but then I a saw a nice keyhole cichlid and in the same tank was a bulldog pleco. I have been wanting to get a pleco for a couple of weeks, Been let down twice on plecos where people dont reply once offering me one so decided to get him along with the Keyhole. My local Maidenhead must have a had a big delivery this week, as the tanks had plenty of stock, the most I have seen there in the last 8 weeks of me visiting them.

Hopefully they will settle in, the Keyhole has found a place to hide behind the bogwood but is coming out now and again, the bulldog pleco went straight to a cave and made it home. He has been out but has returned to the dark cave.

Still on the lookout for those elusive julii or trilineatus, within local reach of me.

Congrats, my recent keyhole purchases haven't bothered with caves or hiding at all. They prefer to be at the glass watching you.

I love one-off random purchases, I saw an adult Festivum in my local MA during the week, just on his own with a bunch of juvis, I had to have him and he's hilarious. Keyholes are awesome, if you find him being shy, just make sure you have some dither fish to entice him to come out and play once in a while. They have a tendancy to get stressed easily and will go mottled/marbled when they are.

Yeah, when I got my keyholes I went in for a couple apistos and came out with the keyholes and 4 potted plants and the intention of rescaping and adding co2. The only thing I didn't get or decide to get while I was in there was the apistos.

I went in to get some frozen food, and ended up buy a pair of p.scalare angels last week.

I tend to not buy the traditional "tropical tank" contents (neons, livebearers, angels, goruami, etc) but these two looked lovely, and looked like they would fit in nicely with my existing contents.

Sometimes, a random purchase can be a good one. However, I do tend to spend time looking into things before buying them. Although, with something as mundane as a p.scalare, I figured it could not really go wrong!
