I feel like my stocking ideas and tank is changing every day... sorry about so many posts on stocking...  We ended up getting and giving some fish so this is what I currently have :

2 Angels
6 neons
6 corydoras
1 guppy (random I know but I have a tank of females that I'm trying to rehome and I do not want any more babies!)
2 German gold rams

Can I add anything else?

55 gallon
temp: 80
ph: 6.8
Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrates are 0
about 17 live plants of various types

I would really like to keep the neons in hopes that maybe since the angels are only the size of a quarter that they would leave them alone when they grow?  I would like to up my number of neons to 12 and then get something for the top spectra...  maybe hatchet fish?

Good luck with the neons - they are a natural food source for Angels, but I have read reports of them co-existing well. Marbled hatchet fish would live nicely at the top, a decent sized shoal would work nicely.

55 gallon = 55 inches of adult fish give or take a bit.

Hatchet fish are nice but the neons will become lunch for the Angels as soon as they are big enough to eat them. Why not have a look at one of the larger tetras like Emperor, Congo or Buenos Aires? Get a nice shoal of them and at will look nice.

There's a good chance they will be eaten a bout 50%.

I already have the neons... I keep going back and forth on rehoming them.  I really like the way they look.
I'd rehome them or watch them get eaten. Up to you of course...
