hey guys,

well as it says in the title i would like some opinions on my thoughts for stocking a 63 litre tank plz.So at the mo i have 6 gorgeous harlequin rasbora darting around the tank, i would like to know what you think about this:

the 6 harly's +
3 honey gourami's (2 female + 1 male)
6 pigmy cory's

or

6 harlys +
another 3 harly's
2 honey gourami's (both female)
4 pigmy cory's

I REALLY love the pearl or blue gourami but im not sure i can fit one in?Alot of the sites that i have looked at are rather contradicting (sp) some say 15 litres minimum others say 200 litres??? I have even read on this site of someone housing 2 pearl gourami in a 2 foot tank and also that you can house 2 blue gouramis in a 20 gallon tank, so could i house 1 in a 16 gallon? OH SOOOO CONFUSING LOL

I would really appreciate any help that you can throw my way!

The first option looks best to me, but thats just my opinion.

Pearl gourami are a definate no no in a 15g tank, its just not large enough, you could have a single dwarf (blue or red) gourami though with the harlquins and pygmys.

yeah i thought the same for a pearl :-( anyway i will upgrade my tank eventually lol.....

i was originally looking at getting a neon blue dwarf but ive read so much about their ailments im not sure about them now?I saw a few honey's in my lfs and they look gorgeous, although im sure they will look better in a planted aquarium than there. Im awful i walk in and want to walk out with em all lol

so my next question is which do i add next the gourami or pygmy's?

Gourami definately, pygmys are sensitive cories and should be in a more mature set up, about 4 months in would be my preference.

I'd go for the 3-4 month mark, the longer the better. And you want 5 or 6 corys in a group really. I'd go for the first stocking options. Dwarf gourami are notorious for dropping like flies, and a nice looking honey gourami is a very good alternative.

I will deffo wait for the pygmy then, although i saw some lovely sterbai in my lfs yesterday when i went up to look at the honey's, but they grow bigger dont they?would it be possible to have a couple of those when the times right?

Anyway yes i went to look at the honey's and i definatel want a couple of those little cuties lol, i also saw the red ones too WOW never seen them before so im thinking one of those and 2 honey's.I know how to sex the honey females but how do i sex the red ones?Ideally i would like 2 female honey's and 1 red male?

Sterbai's are lovely and will be my next choice when i need some bottom feeders but they really need to be kept in groups of 5-6 which may be too many for your size tank depending on what other fish you have in it.
