thats 2 of my dwarf red robin gouramis died in the same week! i set up a realy good looking tank, put the fish in thinking, they look lovely in there, now this.

anyway, would it be ok to put the remaning two gouramis in my community tank? its the 125, fish are in my signature.

p.s with gouramis getting diseases easily, would my other fish get them too?

I don't know whether bala sharks are territorial (no experience with them), but otherwise there should be no problem putting these 2 dwarfs in your community tank. If the sharks are territorial, you'd better not, otherwise the dwarfs will get stressed, and might die too.

How big was your species tank which you had originally set up for the 4 dwarfs? Personally I am not in favour of a species tank for dwarf gouramis, as they are easily stressed when there are too many of their kind in there. I prefer to mix them them as centrepiece fishes in a community tank.

there were 4 of them in a 60 gallon, the tank is well planted, plenty of caves ect. the balas arent teritorial, i have 2 of them in my community and the clown loach swims about with them. there is no aggression in my community that i know of so there should not be any stress.

i would like to put the gouramis in the community to free up the 60 gallon for my guppys.

Check my sig...They all live very happily together so I wouldn't worry too much since your tank is alot bigger than mine.

No dont move the fish. Why would you want to even consider moving 2 fish from a tank where 2 others have just died into a healthy tank?

now theres a point, i never even thought of this. the first gouramis that died got caught in the plant roots and couldnt get air and the second lost some of its colour, i dont think its a desease because the other one wasnt trying to kill or attack it. isnt this what fish try to do to a diseased fish?
