Hi to all here. I have just descovered this site. I have a small octagenale tank at the moment. I made all the classic mistakes when I started. Too many fish etc. It is now stocked with guppies. I have just been given a larger tank by my son in law and I am in the process of setting it up. I found this site via the posting by nmonks on sand in a fish tank. I have read all the posts and found it most interesting. I have now removed 80% of the gravel in the tank and bought some silver sand, washed it and tonight I have replaced the gravel with the sand. The water looks a little cloudy but I hope it will clear soon. I have some plants coming via e aby so these will be planted and those that are spare will go to the son in law.I love the idea of the site that you can ask advice from people who asI have possibly made all the same mistakes and now have a real sound knowledge of fish that are kept as a hobby.
All the best to all here Nigel Newby.
See I am a real Newby
I hope you find it very helpful
[ Dear Silver Lady. Thanks for your kind comments. I have been down the local fish shop. Nobody had heard of Malayian snails/ trumpet snails. So have ordered some from e bay. Also looked at some fish I would like. Will now look on the site to see if they are suitable
