Hi grant and welcome to the forum.

I do have two pieces of advice. The first is; your goldfish need a bigger tank. The recommendation for fancy goldfish (that is, the fantailed ones with a short, fat body) is 100l minimum for the first fish with an additional 40l for each extra fish. 'Normal' goldfish really need to be in ponds, not tanks; sorry.

The second is; many, many local shops won't take home-bred guppies; you may be lucky, but I wouldn't count on it (unless you're breeding a rare strain).

also i know the goldfish need to be in a pond but i dont have a garden and allmy family have or do keepfish and my mums gold fish are quite happy in there fully filtered fully lit tank.
everyone has there opinion on different things, i also keep birds and there are different ways of keeping all kinds of animals, each to there own

This is true to an extent. But particularly with regards to goldfish, there ARE minimum requirements to give the fish a chance to grow to the right size and live to the correct age.
Goldfish are one of the few fish that have been proven to be stunted, often commons are stunted if not kept in pretty large tanks at the very min.
