Hello all!
I have been bitten by the betta bug again.
When I was a kid many many moons ago I would frequently walk to our local Aquarium store.
I had a community tank and was especially fond of fancy guppies.
The lady that ran the Aquariumn store was very kind to me. She didn't mind my coming to
look at the fish like I was watching TV. When I made a purchase if I was a few pennies short
she would tell me to give it to her next time. I did just that too.
Then I was introduced to bettas. My family visited my dad's cousin and he had a fish room.
I was in awe of this room. It was beautiful. In one tank was a male betta blowing a nest.
I was hooked and purchased a small 5 gallon tank.
I was very excited to add a betta to my home. If memory serves me right he was a turquoise blue.
I grew up, married, had a family, and for 15 years I showed and bred Persian cats.
I am retired from that hobby and still share my home with 6 Persians.
So making this long story longer I started getting interested in bettas again.
So I searched for betta breeders on the web.
Much to my surprise I found there are bettas in all kinds of colors and patterns as well as type.
I feel like a kid in a candy store.
My cat background has taught me to calm down and do my research first.
So here I am learning what's new in the Aquarium world.
