I finally figured out my new light! :good: I love it!! I swear my sword looks better already and I have only had the light on for half a day! (could be that I can just literally see it better, going from a 15 watt bulb to this.. lol)

Ok, my question is.. My light comes with a clear moisture resistance cover but I also have a glass cover on my tank. Is that too much glass between the light and the plants? Sould I remove the moisture resistance cover off my light seeing as I have the light sitting on the glass cover anyway?

It is a 55 gallon, 4 ft tank and my plants are Elodea, Java Fern and an Amazon sword. LIght is 54W X 4.

Thanx so much for your help.. It is much apprecaited!

I'll be getting a 4ft soon and will be sure to remove the cover glass, as I'll be running 4x54w. However with 4x54w you've got loads of light, so you might find you want to keep it just to stop the plants growing so much!!!

I hope you've got your co2 and ferts on stand by with that much light!!!

Drat.. No.. I really need the co2 injector? I thought I had planted plants that wouldn't need the Co2... I will go and check out the pinned topic on C02 injectors.. I was looking up some info on planted tanks today and came across this: DIY CO2 Yeast Reactor. Have you ever heard of this? Do you think it would be easier for me, as a beginner and someone terrified of the 'co2 injector' (lol) to look into this?

TY for your help!
