Another 'help Me With Filter Media' Thread...

I've got hold of an old Eheim 2011 canister for my tiny qt/breeding tank. It's only 250 lph which is perfect for my 15L - plus it adds a good litre and a half extra water volume.

I'm just deciding what media to put in it and what order its best to go in. I already have some fluval prefilter ceramics and some 10cm biballs kicking around

I was planning on picking up some course and fine sponge and maybe some ceramic biomedia and a bit of floss.

Layout idea - bottom to top;

fluval prefilter
course sponge
fine sponge
ceramic biorings
bioballs (if room)
and some floss to filter any fine particles still in the water before it returns.

What do you think?

I would set it up Prefilter > Floss > Course > Fine > Bio Media. Floss get's replaced often, so I put it close to the top for easy access.

Yeah if you look at that list it runs from bottom to top if that makes sense - so floss is the last thing you add to the canister and prefilter is the first.
