Normally, I find you a decent member here, Cheese, but when you come into these threads, encouraging this kind of behavior, you become disappointing.

My "condesending " isn't only with you, I haven't singled you out anymore than any other member. I'm only condescending at those who post something I find disagreeable enough to use that tone. It's more against the post than the person as I said, usually I have no problems with you or your posts but there are times when you or others come in and basically just mock anyone you can find off e-Bay or other sites. And you do encourage it by making comments that support it, even if indirectly.

It was the disappointed comment. That was aimed at me, perhaps you should read what you write before posting.

Sorry, I am through with this. I usually manage to avoid it.

Is all that you guys do is trow e-Bay looking for bad examples of fish keeping and posting them in here? This is the third or fourth e-Bay post I've seen in the past day. Like none of you ever made mistakes when you started out keeping fish.

I don't know what's more pathetic, making fun of these people or pretending you're better for doing so.
I agree.

You've heard the expression that the worst kind of smoker is an ex-smoker? Well after seeing the way some people present themselves as superior fish-keepers, I'd say the same applies to fish-keeping (the worst kind of overstocker is an ex-overstocker).

If you all don't like the subject of the post, don't read it. If you bothered to read my original post, you'd have seen that I said I was looking on eBay for a new tank and happened to come across that one and thought you may be interested. So before you go on about me making assumptions, consider not being a hypocrite and doing the same about me. I've got better things to do with my time than to trawl eBay all day looking for overstocked tanks to post on here!!!
I just happened to come across it on my search, and it was more the fact that someone was selling an obviously overtocked tank and then offering fish keeping advice that made me chuckle.
I know there have been a few threads on Ebay in the past, but the same could be said about a lot of the topics on here.
Oh and by the way. I never made any really bad newbie blunders becuase I did research before I bought my first tank or fish. I'm not saying I've never made any mistakes, cos I have, but I've never kept 10 goldfish in a 17 gallon tank!!

It's not always easy to tell by the subject what the topic is gonna be about. Maybe we need an "OMG" forum where people can add their stories about what they overheard at the fish store, how bad their LFS is, the horrible items for sale on the internet, what they saw on eBay, how badly their friend's/co-workers/next door neighbor's tank is overstocked/maintained, etc. ;) I might just add that as a suggestion!
