I empty into the kitchen sink too ... don't have a choice in a first floor flat!

Thanks for the advice anyway, I'll keep it all in mind. At the moment I have 4 buckets- all the same, and I fill 2 with clean, temp matched water and add my dechlor and leave that to stand. Then I syphon two buckets out whilst cleaning the gravel then put the clean water back with a jug.

The reason I didn't get a full kit is the money. It's not only an expensive time of year but it's also a tight squeeze affording food and bills. I could managed £7.50 but £18 would mean not paying a bill or going without food for a couple of days.

Thanks anyway, I appreciate the help and advice and the suggestions regarding cutting down the lugging of buckets. I'll have a chat with my Dad and see if the thing with the hose would work for me

MY sink is spotless......I dont prepare food near it...... and i have a dishwasher Men these days...can't be bothered to stack the dishwasher!

Luckily I've got a sink in the utility room....but I can buy sink cleaners and bleach in my local supermarket.

well then it isn't Your sink...it's hers! so no wonder it's spotless. The only training the man in this house could give is on the Xbox. He wont have anything to do with anything else that actually is required to run a household. think you trained HIM.
