So just as I thought everything was going well I have looked at my male dwarf gourami and he has what looks like a furry mould on his stomach, can somebody please tell me what this is and if I can get rid of it?

try isolating him, adding aquarium salt, heat the water to 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit, and add the proper meds for fungus as that is what it sounds like, but dont add the salt if you have scaleless fish like, cories and plecs

I cannot isolate I have no where to isolate him?!

well, then just add aquarium salt, heat the water to 80-82, and add the proper meds for fungus as thats what it sounds like your fish has

Will that damage the other fish? There are angels, and a golden nugget in there? Also I will have to get the meds tomorrow will that be okay? There is nowhere open just now :(

There's really no need to add aquarium salt AND fungus meds.

Buy some fungal medication and treat the tank tomorrow.

It's always worth having something you can use as a hospital 'tank' - I use a 30 litre storage container. I have a spare filter and heater so I can add some sponge from my main filter to the spare and I'm good to go.

Yep, they can quite literally be a life saver. :good:

It's just one fish with fungus, not a whole tankful - don't see the need for salting the whole lot of them needlessly.

I would love to get another something to keep poorly fish in but OH would kill me sadly and we are very limited on space. It gets very stressful this fish keeping sometimes and at times I think I am doing it all wrong and should just pack it all in. It is actually easier to keep my stress head horses happy!!! I never did think I would say that!

Exactly - so adding salt is needless here, as the fish can't be isolated.

The OH would never suspect that a plastic storage box was for fish... but i suspect you may have to tip about 300 pairs of shoes out of it when you do need to use it...
