Can the yeast method create some sort of residue inside the tank, i've noticed what look tiny grains of stuff on the rocks they are a greyish colour and the only thing I can put it down to is yeast,I took the diffuser out and the tubing and noticed the output end of the tube had what looked like a build up of the same stuff and the outside of the tubing had a coating of it as well, there is no yeast bubbling up the tube from the bottle and no tank water has got into the bottle as I have a non return valve fitted, is this normal or do you think I should fit some sort of scrubber into the top of the bottle, any ideas, thanks.

You have a picture of the residue?

Honestly, I have no idea, though I can understand why you think yeast.

Its a diy set up and I use the nutrafin ladder diffuser,it knocks out about 1 bps and its a 100ltr tank (or so i was told when I got it second hand)I also dose wth liquid ferts once a week and the tank is quite well planted and they all seem to be thriving, espiacally the jave moss which I have to trim back, btw I've just intoduced a pair of zebra loach (botias) and they have cleared the rock in the picture completley that what makes me think its algae.

Do you use a dropchecker to measure you CO2?
