Picked up what i think is a bargain of a tank yesterday. I won it on ebay for the grand price of £5. Needs a good clean and some silicone scraping off the top but other than that it looks fine. Odd dimensions though at 39" long x 30" tall x 14.5" deep. Just got to decide whats going in it

Pic of how it is now

that is a bloody bargain!!!!

awesome!

how about an oddball tank :)?

Not a massive fan of oddball's, i appreciate why people like them but there not really my thing. I dont mind snakeheads to much as i personally think there quite a nice looking fish. This tank may be going in the shed yet for something as ive yet to persuade the other half to let me have it in the house.

Its a well made tank though, it weighs a ton. Its probably got somthing to do with the 10mm glass its made of

fair do's mate :)

how about a reef tank :P

Well the other half did say i could have it indoors if it was a reef tank. But im not sure what im doing with reef tanks etc so i wouldnt be confident enough to set a tank this big up as a reef tank. As for the angel idea.... ive already got 3 in my main 4ft tank (did have 2 pairs but one just randomly died) They seem quite happy together though, they hang around as a trio now

You could use it to breed something from your main tank in...like angels for example?

Pop a pair in, let them hatch the fry out and then use it as a grow out tank whilst they go back to the main tank.

Get one batch of fry from it and it'll have paid for itself and hopefully have a bit of money left over to buy new fish with??

So it could be good fun, relatively mature and you'd have some extra time to think about what you actually wanted to stock it with...

I was considering breeding in it, but id rather it was something less common. At one point i was thinking of breeding galaxy rasboras but i think its a bit of a waste of a large tank just for that.... maybe it isnt, It just seems that way.

I was thinking about what plants id put in there and thought some really long vallis would look great in there going all the way to the top.
