I don't know how, but there's a tiny yellow baby in my brand new tank.
I only even put a couple of platies in 2 days ago..

No big deal. Platys are capable of storing sperm and use it in the next pregnancy cycle, they can have batches of fry with just 4-5 weeks in between so basically they can have fry every month so it'll just be "stored" sperm. Thats howw they're arguably the most common fish in the species.

Yeah, I had heard that. The fry seems to big to have been born in the last two days though. Strange.
My mum seems to think it could have come out of my biOrb, since we siphoned some water from that into my new tank, and now 3 babies have turned up in there. Who knows!

Hmm thats weird, I suppose that they could have survived going for a ride up a siphon pipe haha platys are hardy wee fish so its maybe not that hard to believe. Congrats on your new additions anyways!! :D

Thank you! :D

Lots of fry take rides in tubing as narrow as your air line tubing would be. If you used anything larger than air tubing, you could easily transfer fry around. It is one reason I keep all of my harder to find fish in single species colonies and keep closely related fish in separate rooms. It minimizes the chance of such a transfer.
