Angle Fish

Im starting a 46g bowfront tank, I already have 3 anglefish and plan on putting discus fish in a few more weeks when the tank cycles more. WHat other good tankmates are good to keep together and that are pretty.

Careful with adding discus to this tank. A 46 gallon is not big enough for 3 angels AND discus. Most Discus folks say a minimum of 5 Discus in a minimum of a 55 gallon tank with no other big fish. In addition, Discus need very specific water conditions and if your tank is newly cycled (or barely cycled) you risk losing some very expensive fish. Why not build your stocking about the 3 angels by adding corys, a pair of apistogramma dwarf cichlids and a school of larger tetras.

you would be ok adding discus if the tank was mature and you didnt have anglefish! many people keep anglefish with discus but they get to aggressive when mature and they carry a parasite which can kill discus.if you are want to keep discus keep they on there own! they will do alot better in the long without the stress of other tankmates. you could add around six discus at about 3 inches to 46g tank but you would need to upgrade your tank within a year.
