I don't know if this belongs here, but......
I was thinking of getting two angels, but am I worried about my Rts.
Please look at my sig and tell me what you think!

It all depends on the size of angels you are wanting. Red tails sharks are quite aggressive, but usually towards their own kind and to fish smaller than themselves. i do have reservations concerning your tiger barbs. These are known fin nippers, and angels have long finnages especially when they mature. I have 3 golden marbled angels (3 years old) and their finnage trails especially their lower ones. They do look lovely though.

Yor tetras would be in danger of being food for the angels, in the wild small fish make up a very large part of their diet so it is instinctive for them to want to eat them.

As said your Tetras would be in danger, any small 'Torpedo' shaped fish with a slim body line is likely to be eaten, larger wider bodied fish are left alone, fish such as Black Widow Tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi) for example. :)

Yeah, I agree with Ryan and CFC, and don't mix angels with Tiger Barbs, no matter how many you have, angelfish are just to much to pass

yummm...tetras.
I think your shark would be fine with the angels, mine got along relitively well until the shark commited suicide. It's the other fish I'd worry about :ninja:

What do you mean committed suicide?! How can a fish kill himself?

I would have to agree....I had a red fin shark with 2 angels...they seemed total compatible ..... but I (personally) thought it was because I got them at realtively the same time and they were the same size.....same thing...till the shark and my Marbel ...well....I wouldn't say committed suicide :( ...more like drowned :( ....I had just started my tank and had .....stupid me...... 14 fish in a 10 gallon tank!!!! Looked perrtty though!!
Anyway...just my 2 cents worth....not much but...lol....ciao

I agree, but if you introduce angels at a very small size ~1-2" they may grow up associating tetras as not being food.

I agree sanj. I have an angel who grew up with neons, and she wouldnt hurt a fly. But if you open the hood and drop em in on an adult, just like its dinner time thats a different story. Also I would skip the barbs. All they do is run around nipping every thing. And angels get pretty stressed by fast moving nippy fish.IMO

I agree with Fiddlesticks, the barbs gotta go.Angels will do well with small fish as long as the angels are introduced when they are small and grow up with them.
I am posting a pic so you can see my koi with my neons. They get along just fine.I have never seen a neon swim away from any of my angels.

Thank you everyone for your Imput!
That was awesome!
The advice I recieved saved my angels (which I of course had to get)
Barbs are gone.
So I got one black and white one. They are little and have not touched the tetras at all, thanks to all of your advice!
Going well, and seem to be having no problems at all.
Thanks again for all the advice :kana:

lol that's a funny pic. Poor little neon looks like it's about to become lunch. :p

I have 6 tetras in with 3 angels and they get along fine...I think like others have said if they are introduced early enough they will be fine, also keep them well fed lol

Hi David,I know it might seem that way,but if you notice the neon is not swimming away from the angel, indicated that it feels confortable being among the giants.

Raindream,I agree with you about keeping them well fed.Mine usually don't get fed one day a week(this is by design) and they still won't eat the neons, now my plants are another thing all together.
