i introduced 6 angels into my tank on labor day. I made sure that they all ate n they did. I just saw one of the angels floating/swimming uncontrollably and i think its an airbladder problem. Is it to late to save my angel? thanx

Thanks, david. I am having really bad luck keeping angels because i just lost 2 more when i got home from school, but i will never give up keeping these beatiful fish. :flex:

Just keep at it. When I got my first 2 angels years ago, I had a LOT of luck. I kept them both in a 10 gallon with some guppies and neons (which they soon dveoured), and they lived there happily for several years. They also just happened to be a male and female, and they layed eggs on the glass. Unfortunately I knew nothing about breeding angels at the time, so I left the babies there and they all got eaten :byebye: Later i moved and gave them both away to my friend who has a 150 gallon tank and as far as I know they are still alive (last time I saw them they were HUGE and very gorgeous). I guess some people are just lucky. Oh well, good luck with the rest of your angels.

Although I had success with keeping angels in a 10 gallon, I would not suggest it to anyone. Please do not move fish from a large space into a space that is dramatically smaller, as it could have serious negative effects. I know I did wrong by keeping mine in a 10 gallon, but i suspect the reason they did so well was because they grew up in cramped surroundings and were used to it. It was when they were moved to my friends 150 gallon that they really started to flourish. Putting yours into a 10 gallon would probably kill them. I'd just keep your remaining ones in the 55 (how many do you have again?) and get some more after several weeks when you are sure they are healthy. Remember angels need 10 gallons each so you can keep up to 5, maybe 6 if you are confident in that tank.
