I started off with 4 angels of which one recently died unfortunately. I have had them since they were small and they are now around the size of a 2 CAD coin and another one is around 3.5 cm. Already before the 4th one died, 3 of them were always swimming together whereas the 4th only ocassionnally joined.

Is this normal? I wanted 2 to pair up, but it looks I have ended up with a trio instead...

Be thankfull they are getting along i'd say. I have 3 and one is always on there own, however the two that stick together are both males :S From the size you say you got your angels i reckon you'd be lucky to get two pairs from them, seeing as sexing them is so hard when they are adult, yet alone as juvi's.

I had 4 at 1 point, none got on with each other...ever.

Your lucky.

I have 4 angels, two sets of two. Took them in because they were both bullying the other angel in the pair with their former owners but now there are 4 angels in a larger tank with lots of cover and smaller fish they seem to be a lot less aggressive. Don't hang around in pairs though (maybe all 4 are same sex?). As has already been said, I'm just thnkful they are not attacking each other!
