Angels

Well i now have an empty 30 gal tank and was looking for a new kind of fish that i could put in it. I was first looking for cichlids but 30 gal. it just too small for the ones i wanted. So i was thinking about angels. I have heard that they get territorial when they breed so would it be a bad idea to get 4 femal so they cant breed? And what would be other fish to put in with them. Im still open to other ideas so if you have any i would be happy to listen

Angels should be posted under new world cichlids, if you pm a mod you can ask them to move it.

Angels are difficult to sex even when mature so it would be impossible to pick 4 females. You could in theory get 4 juvies and let a pair form then return the others but a 30 gallon would be too small for 4 adults. You could keep a group of the larger bodies tetras with them such as black skirts but neons are an angels natural food in the wild. You could also keep some corys with them.

There are several cichlids suitable for a 30 gallon tank, kribs, rams and keyholes spring to mind. Have a read if the fish profiles for more information
