i seen 2 angels at the store today and i was interested. i would like to ask everyone some questions first before i get them. before i continue i have a extra 35 gallon tank i would use is this ok for 2 angels? i know the ph needs to be low. 6.4-7.2? i would use live sand which i think is fine since i have seen others use it. now live plants. i think they are required. is this true?

hi
your tank needs to of a minimum height of 18"(of water)
this is because of the length that angels dorsal and ventral fins become
also angels are best kept as one or a group of fish rather than a pair;
having said that I do have a pair in a 62g tank but they do seem to have one side each.

live plants are a must my angels were in my tank for 6 months before i started putting live plants in and the 18" is true if they are a mated pair then they will be ok because thats what mine are and they play and swim with each other but if they arent mated then you might have some problems but considering your tank size you should be ok

You will have to cycle or clone this tank before you can add angels to it and I'd wait till they got more angels because I'd recommend getting 4-6 small angelfish then once they get bigger and 2 form a pair (become boyfirend and girlfriend) you will need to return the others.
