Hey there, Wilder, Puffdaddy and Tolak were a huge help to us last weekend with an angel emergency we had. # out of the four angels were exhibiting the same symptoms, so we put all 3 in the hospital tank and dosed with metro following the instructions. Now, those 3 seem much better and our 4th angel is about ready to die I think, but totally different symptoms. She was fine up until this morning, then she is up at the surface, kind of gasping and having like little seizures. The other 3 came out of QT late last night, so now new angel is in QT, but it is just getting worse quickly, she if barely breathing, gets a little strength, then floats around upside down and sideways. I am sure she won't make it, but I am of course desperate to try something. The 55 gallon tank is 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia, 5 nitrate, ph 7.0. All other fish are fine and have been fine, we only have 6 corys, 4 angels, and 5 swordtails, and 1 rubbernose plec. The tank is also heavily planted. We have never had problems until last weekend and now it is like boom, boom. Any ideas of what could be causing 4th angel problems? Nothing visual that i can see.

Sad to say she dying, the parasites did there damage, sometimes the med can be to late if they were infested with them.
Sorry.

Would that be the case even though she was fine until the other 3 came back into the tank last night? This was almost immediate this morning, and not exhibiting the same symptons at all the other 3 were. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Try adding some salt to the hospital tank about 1tsp. per gallon. The salt may do nothing for your Angel, but I'm a strong
believer in salt baths (it can do magical things to a sick fish). Unfortunately your Angel is likely not to make it. SORRY

Sorry thought you had wormed her, best to worm then all when you have internal parasites.
If she having sizures and gasping I don't hold out to much hope for her, sorry.

I did add the salt earlier, she didn't make it, now my 2 daughters are hysterical. The other 3 that came out of the QT last night night are back up at the heater, not moving, not eating, yet in the QT tank they finally perked up. I am at a loss, especially since it is only the angelfish, no other fish are affected. FRUSTRATING! I really appreciated your help last weekend, my husband and I were at the fish store last Saturday, in a blizzard, $100.00 spent trying to save a $10.00 fish, it's crazy...

Ok sorry about the loss R.I.P.
Say to the children she gone to heaven and not suffering anymore.
Might be stressed being moved again, did you check tanks stats on both before you moved them.
As meds can alter ph.

:rip: angel... Poor kids, as Wilder said tell them that angel has gone to heaven..where she/he is happy and not in any pain..xx

Yeah, the whole thing is depressing. Our 55 gallon, even though we have some other fish in there, it really is all about the angels. We are a "fish family", my daughters have a tank in their room as well, and my 9 year old lost her guppy last week, so it is like double whammy. We do alot of talking about the circle of life in this household!

I would contact tolak and ask if you can use that med again.

How long did you med with the metro for? I med with metro for a minimum of 7 days, 10 to 14 is better.
