My new loachy friend, taken from my grandmother's horrible filthy 10 gallon that never got cleaned (my grandmother is 86, it's not like you can blame her...) She's living it up in the 29 gallon now and will hopefully be getting a buddy soon, but I have to find another yo-yo big enough not to be eaten by the bichir :p. Grandmother got a 5 gallon with a betta and two ADFs, much easier for her to deal with.

Cool pics and beautiful markings on your loach.

He might cut down your MTS population a bit. I threw a few larger MTS in my 55g (that has skunks, zebras, a yo-yo and a Botia robusta) and noticed the empty shells last night.

those angels look gorgeous mate, what type are they?

Well, from what I can tell, one is a Silver Angel, and the other is either a koi or a blusing angel. Am I right Synirr? :/

Pfft, like I know. I know neither is koi or blushing, though. The male is just a regular ol' striped angel, and the other, I believe, is what you'd call "stripeless"... it only has one dose of the blushing gene? I could be completely off on that one though.

Well, the one you are calling striped is either wild, silver or zebra. As for the other angel closely, it looks more like a koi angel.

Stunning fish Synirr!
That loach looks ike its just about to mature and loose the Yo Yo markings on it
Angels are a pain when they breed, screw up the whole tank :X

the other one is definitly not a Blushing Koi.
It would have a more elongated snout (well IME anyway) and would have red on its cheeks!
Maybe ask Tolak on this or other angel experts, if you really want to know.

Looks kinda like a German Blue 'blusher' to me. However, all 'blushers' are born with the blush gene which is the just the absence of coloring in the gill plates (allowing them to be transparent and show the redness of the gills). Now, as the angel ages those colors develope on the gill plates and the 'blush' fades away with the age of the fish. So, it may very well have been born a blushing koi if thats what you believe it to be, but over time has lost that trait.

Oh yeah, nice fish too.

That angel has always had the markings it has now, it has never been blushing. I've had it since it was less than an inch long ;)
Like I said, I think it's stripeless. From the very little bit I've read and my limited understanding of angel genetics, I believe the blushing gene is incompletely dominant, so when a fish is heterozygous for the gene only the stripes on the body are missing like on mine. She also has black on her tail.

how big is your bichir?? because i have a sengal bichir wuith a yoyo loach he's about your guy's size too. but if you want a buddy for your yoyo loach try a tiger botia(unless they cant go together)

The bichir is about 6-7", you can barely see part of his tummy through the sword plant in the second pic ;)
