Hi,
I'm planning on upgrading my 29 gallon to 45 gallons and I was planning on getting 2 angelfish, 2 german blue or electric blue rams, and 2 or maybe 3 dwarf gouramis. Would these fish all be fine in the same tank? Would you recommend german blue rams or electric blue rams? Would I have to do anything to have the fish happy? So lots or little decorations, high or low ph, anything?
Thanks

they probably wont be alright in the same tank the angelfish will possibly pair up and start harrasing everithing else but if you cut ou the angelfish it would be fine use german blue rams ph of around 6.5 - 7 decorations are otional although i believe the rams like a bit of open space as they can be territorial ( wont be a problem with the gouramis as they stay on different levels of the tank )

IMO i find angels should be 1 per 30 gallons.. but you can get away with 2.. what happens when you guy them larger they'll fight and harass each other, the weaker one will die.. so buy them as small as possible.. and also healthy so you don't have issues later on.

now the rams and gourami will most likely fight.. because they look similar they will go at each other if not given the proper territory and sight line blockage.
the rams are bottom dwellers, while angels are all over, and gourami are middle to bottom dweller.

i would recommend you to get the tank up and running a month (to allow it to cycle because the fish you are interested in need a mature tank) .. make sure that the stats are perfect etc etc.
then before getting any of the rams etc, get a school of tetras... then the angels.. allow around a week to 2 to allow territory to get set up.. then add the gouramis... then the rams... but remember you might have issues with the gourami and rams..
now with putting different breeds of rams together, i'm not 100% sure so someone else will need to help you with that.. but if you are going to put the breeds you want into the tank together so that the territory can be made so that not one will have the whole bottom and then the new one kicked out.

I've had those species together in the same tank (albeit a big one) before with no problem other than the MDG iridovirus issue.
