Recently I picked up a 40 gallon "breeder" tank with the intention of turning it in to a minireef. But lately I've been giving serious thought to converting my 75 gallon planted FW tank in to the reef system.
Problem is I'm very attached to my FW fish, especially my two angels and I could never get rid of them and in my house the only room I have left for a new tank is just enough to fit that 40 gallon. This includes height because the tank is being positioned in a place where I can't get a tank any higher.
Since I haven't started anything with it yet it would be very easy to just take all my plants and rocks, driftwood ect from my 75 and make the 40B the FW planted tank but I'm concered as to whether its enough room for my two angels. For those who don't know, the 40B is a shallow tank. The dimensions are 36Lx18Wx16H so I'll loose 4 inches of height over my 75G which is 20"H. My angels are approx 4 1/2 to 5" from top to bottom (including fins). Also, a "40 breeder" is actually 45 gallons in total.
Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
